Islamabad:,,, The UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Mr. Ahmad Al-Hindawi, called on Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Policy on Monday. The Envoy was accompanied by the UN Resident Coordinator to Pakistan.
The Secretary-General’s Envoy appreciated the ongoing efforts of the incumbent government for economic and social uplift of the youth in Pakistan.
The Envoy expressed keen desire to work closely with Pakistan both at the federal and provincial level to develop joint programmes aimed at youth-empowerment, notably in the area of skill development.
The Advisor briefed the visiting delegation on Government’s policies and initiatives to promote education, skill development, and growth-driven employment for youth in the country.
While proposing the UN to assist Pakistan in setting-up skill-development centres at the provincial level in the country, the Adviser emphasized that post-2015 UN development agenda should be given due consideration.
