Under-16 Lyari football league concluded

Karachi: KE (K-Electric) concluded the Under-16 Lyari football league that kicked off last week and was held from May 16 – 25, 2014. KE held this mega sports event in partnership with UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund), PFF (Pakistan Football Federation) and the Anti-Narcotics Department.

Nayyer Hussain, CEO K-Electric was the chief guest of the closing ceremony.

UC 11 and UC 7 battled it out in the final match to win the league trophy. After a tense and exciting encounter, UC 7emerged as the winner of Under-16 Lyari Football League with 2-1 lead. The league concluded on a positive note where the award was presented to the winning team by the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, KE’s GM Media & PR Ahmed Faraz said that youngsters below the age of 16 participated in this league. A total of 12 teams performed from 11 UCs in Lyari with one combined team from Lyari. The tournament was held at the People’s Stadium, Lyari
