UNDP approves the allocation of budget of 1 million Pound Sterling (£)

Peshawar: United Nation Development Program (UNDP) has approved the additional allocation of budget of 1 million Pound Sterling (£) to scale up support budget to the project Strategic Support Unit in FATA. According to the approved summary, the additional budget for UNDP Program Strategic Support Unit has been revised from 1.5 million £ to 2.5 million £ for the fiscal year 2015-16.

This unit (SSU) will assist the administration of FATA Secretariat to accelerate the efficiency and the effectiveness of the departments and will support them in their capacity building with special focus on the education, health, economic development and its revival for the betterment of tribal people. It will also support to ensure the effective implementation of reconstruction and rehabilitation strategy for TDPs in FATA.

It would be pertinent to mention here that earlier, in a meeting with the UNDP officials, the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan had stressed for the need of additional allocation of funds to ensure the effective implementation of Reconstruction and Rehabilitation strategy for TDPs in FATA and to accelerate the efficiency and effectiveness of the departments in FATA secretariat.
