Unnecessary promotions should be cancelled: Jam

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Wednesday said that all unnecessary promotions in Sindh health department should be cancelled at once and these promotions should be given to those who deserve it.

This he said while presiding over a meeting of Divisional Health officers here. He said that following Supreme Court’s order, all deputations in Health Department will be cancelled and cases of corruption to be referred to anti-corruption. Unless the department becomes free from corruption, matters could not be tackled in proper way.

He added: “It is brought in his knowledge that in certain districts, unnecessary promotions have been given to promote favourism, while deserved people have been deprived of their rights.” He directed all the heads of government hospitals to make their hospitals free from politics and all kinds of mafias, and ban the entry of all irrelevant people so that proper care may be given to the patients.

Jam said that it was the need of the hour that government hospitals should pay full attention in performing their duties. On this occasion, he expressed his dissatisfaction over the performance of Civil Hospital Sukkur.
