KARACHI: One person was killed and five others were injured in separate violence incidents in the city on Saturday.
An alleged unknown accused, 35, was killed in retaliatory fire by police near Baba Tajuddin shrine.
Pak Colony station house officer (SHO) claimed that a police party signaled a suspected motorcyclist to stop near Baba Tajuddin shrine, but he opened fire on them. In retaliatory police fire, an alleged unknown accused aged about 35 years was killed. Police also recovered a TT pistol with two rounds. However, his one accomplice managed to flee under the cover of firing.
An alleged dacoit Farmaullah, 25, alias BBC, son of Zahoor, who was a ringleader of Bhawani Chali colony, was killed in encounter with police when he attempted to enter a iron factory with intention of robbery.
Rana Khushi Mohammad, SHO Site A, claimed that the accused was wanted to police in different crimes. The police also recovered a TT pistol, four rounds from his possession. However, his two accomplices managed to flee. The body was shifted to CHK for an autopsy.
During joint targeted operation in Jumma Shah plot along Ghareed Shah Road, unknown accused of Lyari gang-war threw a hand grenade. Resultantly, SHO Kalakot Haji Sanaullah, 45, and DSR Rangers, Tahir, 35 (Wing-93), were injured. Both were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.
Separately, a youth Zameer, 24, son of Ghulam Nabi, was shot and injured in firing by unidentified accused over resistance in robbery.
The injured was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for treatment.
In another incident, Mohammad Nadeem, 35, son of Din Mohammad, was shot and injured by unknown persons over resistance during dacoity near Excel Bridge. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.
Meanwhile, Siddiq, 35, son of Dawood Khan, resident of Baldia Abidabad, was shot and injured by unidentified accused near his residence. He was shifted to CHK for treatment.
A youth, Rehan, 26, son of Mohammad Ali, resident of Lines area, was injured by stray bullet in his home. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.
