Uplift projects under way in city: CS

KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh, Mohammad Siddique Memon has said that Karachi is one of the most important mega cities of the world, adding development work is being carried out here sufficiently, like K-IV project for water-supply, S-III, Greater Sewerage Project, KCR (Karachi, Circular Railway) and CETP (Combined Efficient Treat Plant) in five industrial areas of the Karachi.

He was addressing the under training delegation of National Police Academy. The under training ASPs, who visited the Sindh Secretariat, PM House, Sindh’s study tour on Wednesday.

Secretary Implementation SGASCD, Rashid Hussain Qazi, Additional IGP Traffic Police Khadim Hussain Bhatti, Chief Coordinator AF Tunio and Special Secretary Home Riaz Soomro also attended the session.

It was briefed that under the National/Provincial Action Plan, during 5th September 2013 till 10th October 2015, The Pakistan Rangers Sindh arrested 904 terrorists, 511 target killers, 350 bhatta collectors and 85 kidnappers, while got released 50 abductors and in 229 encounters, killed 378 criminals as 214 criminals are apprehended.

Chief Secretary analyzed that the situation has improved in Sindh, due to the decrease in the crime of kidnapping, ransom, extortion, target killing, sectarian violence and street crimes. Over all review was made in the briefing session.
