QUETTA: Decision of levying withholding tax on bank transactions should be withdrawn. Federal Finance Minister should resolve this matter with business community in consultation and consent.

This was stated by Vice President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries Mrs Fahmeeda Jamali while speaking to members, executive committee members and office bearers of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries delegation here Sunday.

Uzma Khalid, Razia Habibi, Saiqa Naseem, Mukhtar Fatima and other office bearers and other women were present on the occasion.

Mrs Jamali said government should do away with reservations of trading community. Businessmen and traders were paying heavy taxes on various counts and therefore Finance minister should review this decision. It is matter to be paid attention on. It was increasing concern in the commercial circles and recent demonstrations and strikes in different cities were causing negative impacts on businessmen and country’s economy.

Fahmeeda Jamali told women that Federal Finance minister should sort out permanent solution of the problem with business community and representatives of Chambers to help end restlessness prevalent among business community so that business people and workers associated with should not suffer.

Women present certain suggestions for promotion of cottage products and handcrafts at the country’s level and requested for their access to international commercial markets.

Fahmeeda Jamali assured them for implementation of their suggestions and requests.
