Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram’s car was fired upon following traffic accident spat here in Karachi on Wednesday.
Wasim Akram, who is heading fast bowler’s camp here at National Stadium, was first hit by another car and then when he managed to stop the vehicle after some chase, a man coming out of it fired on Wasim’s car before running away.
Later, Wasim told about the incident to media and said that the person, who fired on his car resembled to some official but he didn’t named that official.
After the incident, legendary bowler’s well wisher prayed for his safety.
Pakistan T20 captain Shahid Afridi said that it was good to know Wasim escaped unhurt and he also prayed for his safety.
Former Pakistan cricketer and member selection committee Salim Jaffar also said that it was good to know Wasim is safe. Jaffar also said that Wasim will continue to lead the fast bowler’s camp, which is scheduled to conclude on August 13.
Pakistan’s former legendary captain and PTI Chairman Imran Khan condemned the firing on Wasim’s car.
