KARACHI: Two persons, including a woman, were killed and five others injured in different violence incidents here on Wednesday.
An unknown woman, aged about 30, was shot dead by unidentified armed men near Mamoor Masjid, Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident, a man, Khan Masih, 50, son of Hurya Masih, was gunned down and a youth, Mohammad Wali, 27, son of Abdul Ghani, was shot and injured by unknown armed men near Gulshan-e-Bihar area in Orangi Town. The body and injured were shifted to ASH for an autopsy and treatment respectively.
Yet in another incident, a man, Amanullah, 35, son of Akhtar Khan, was shot and injured by unknown gunmen near Passport Office in Saddar area. He was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment.
Separately, a man, Asif, 35, son of Shabir, was shot and injured by unidentified gunmen near apartments of Nagin Chowrangi. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.
Meanwhile, a head constable, Rasheed Ahmed, 40, son of Abdul Khaliqui, was shot and injured by unknown armed bandits near Mustafa Masjid in Landhi. The injured was rushed to JPMC for treatment.
Station House Officer (SHO) Quaidabad police station informed that police HC Rasheed Ahmed was posted at West Headquarter. He was in uniform when he saw unidentified bandits chased by citizens. He also started chasing bandits who opened fire on him, resultantly he sustained injuries.
Furthermore, a man, Anees, 55, son of Yousuf, was shot and injured by unknown armed men near Metro shopping centre in SITE area. The injured was rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment.
