Woman demands release of her husband

KARACHI: A woman from Korangi on Wednesday alleged that police have illegally detained her husband Mirza Osaf Baigh, a suspended head constable, to unknown place and his life is at threat.

Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club, the woman, Shabana Osaf, resident of Korangi, said that her husband had been suspended from his job as head constable for not obeying illegal orders of his superior officers.

She complained that her husband was constable in Sindh Police, who was suspended in the pretext of so-called absence from his duty but fact was that he was regular and punctual.

She claimed that few days ago, her husband was detained by police and locked up at Awami Colony police station illegally. On complaint, Judicial Magistrate Salman Barwahu raided Awami Colony police station and got freed her husband from their custody.

The woman said that police have now again detained her hustand outside the city court. She demanded safe release of her husband.
