Work on Shadi Kor Dam project stopped

PASNI: Work on Shadi Kor Dam project has been stopped following kidnapping of seven employees of Consultant Company of the project. Two of the employees both drivers were freed Thursday.

According to details seven employees of Shadi Kor Dam project including Resident Engineer, two Supervisors and 2 drivers were abducted three days ago. Two drivers were released today while five employees were still in the custody of abductors.

Work on Shadi Kor Dam project had started in October 2009 at an estimated Cost of Rupees 6.5 billion. Due to shortage of funds it remained suspended. It was scheduled for completion in June this year. Work on the project was stopped following abduction of seven employees three days ago. Contractor has started shifting machinery from the dam site in view of security apprehensions.
