Worst electricity load shedding in Naundero haunts people

NAUNDERO: Electricity load shedding has once again been increased from 12 to 16 hours a day out of 24 hours here in the hometown of Bhutto leaders on the direction of Superintending Engineer (SE), SEPCO, Larkana, Nazir Soomro, due to which six rice mills have been completely closed.

These rice mills pay millions of rupees monthly and all the labourers earning livelihood in these factories have been rendered unemployed, causing unrest among them. All kinds of other businesses have also been affected as after every four hours electricity supply is restored just for two hours and that too is curtailed by the grid station incharge at his own will.

Local PPP leaders have announced to seek justice by filing a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan within this week. Khalid Memon, City President, told PPI on Monday that he along with other party leaders, including Seth Lokchand and Sikandar Katpar, have consulted senior lawyers Inayatullah Morio and others, who have assured that they will prepare and fight their case in the apex court.

He said that during meeting with SE recently, it was mutually decided that power outages in Naundero will be reduced as per the policy of the federal government to bring this town at par with rest of the country to end discrimination but SEPCO SE has now deviated from his promise and has directed for enhanced load shedding which is inhuman act.

Shehri Action Committee has also started parleys with the citizens and other trade associations to stage a memorable protest here very soon for seeking their basic right. Ghulam Hyder Narejo, Mumtaz Sether, Manzoor Mangi and others said that instead of eliminating corruption in the SEPCO, the rulers were targeting consumers which would not be tolerated. They demanded that WAPDA should be privatized immediately to end highhandedness of its bureaucrats which has brought bad name to the government.
