Writers are asset of Pakistan: Sharmila

KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Cultural and Tourism Sharmila Farooqui has said that writers are asset of our country and we should respect them.

“Reading poetry of young poet and journalist Umair Ali Anjum gives feeling of refreshment,” she said in a statement on Thursday. Farooqui said that Umair had highlighted the society’s pain and human psychology with beauty. She congratulated Umair on arrival of his third collection of poetry.

“Umair has brightened the name of Pakistan in whole world through his poetry, which is extreme happiness and pride for us.”

Sharmila further said: “If new generation become familiar with pen and book, our country will complete the journey of development rapidly.”
