Youngster Sufyan scores double ton in 25-over match

Karachi: Talented upcoming Under 17 opening batsman Sufyan Khan become the first person to score a double century in a 25 overs match when he helped Mujahid Gymkhana KCCA Zone II team beat Malik Sports KCCA Zone XII by 32 runs here at Jinnah College Cricket Ground in a festival match.

Sufyan smashed 19 fours and 11 sixes in his superb knock of 201 runs, which came off only 82 balls. Mujahid Gymkhana posted a huge total of 290-8 in allotted 25 overs. Raja Qamar Ayyub contributed 40 off 28 balls. Najam Wahab captured three wickets.

In reply, Malik Sports also gave their team a solid start as Shahid Ali scored 73 off 47 balls and Imran Khan made 60 off 46 balls. Asim Bilal scored 51 off only 27 balls but they failed to reach victory total and fell 33 runs short of target. Noman Afzal bowled lethally and captured a four-wicket haul for the winning team.
