Youth Empowerment project launched in KP

Peshawar: In order to enhance the leadership qualities of the youth and enable them to work together for the betterment of the society, a project titled (WE) ‘Work for Empowerment’ has been launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The project is a joint venture of Dost Welfare Foundation and British Council Pakistan, under which a series of training workshops would be held for the capacity building of youth from throughout the country. In this regard four day capacity building workshop had been concluded here on Monday at Hotel Elites, Nathiagali. Training workshop titled ‘WE Boot Camp’ is aimed to bring together young volunteers from all over Pakistan to agree on working for Youth Empowerment & Society betterment.

Around 75 youth representatives from KP, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Azad Kashmir participated in the training. On the occasion, WE (Work for Empower) Chief Executive Fahad Riaz, Executive Director Sajid Sultan, Program Director Afrasiab Yousafzai, Qaiser Roonjha representative of WANG organization and other team members were also present. Besides sensitizing the youth to work as ambassador of peace and harmony, participants were engaged in different sessions, role plays and learning based activities.

Cultural night, camp fire and lantern activity were celebrated to project peace, love and harmony among people of different faiths and and cultures. Hiking was organized in the snowy tracks to train the youth to adopt their self in difficult situation and put teamwork learning into practice while hiking.

At the end of the workshop, certificates and prizes were also distributed among the young participants.
