Youth team working to pacify city: commissioner

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said on Wednesday that Commissioner Karachi Youth Team would make all out efforts for social progress and to make the city a peaceful place with the support of students of different universities and other educational institutes.

“It will help promote sense of belonging to the city among the youth and other citizens,” he said while addressing the meeting to review the activities and programmes being organized by the youth team and students of Szabist in different educational institutes.

Coordinator Commissioner Karachi Youth Team Shazia Mirza briefed about the programmes planned. She said the youth team had yet organised different programmes for spreading awareness of importance of cleanliness, how to be safe at the time of emergencies, use of First Aid, use  of fire extinguisher and civil defence training for school children.

The meeting was informed that the training of civil defence and cleanliness activities were undertaken at the Lemon Gabol Goth Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Mohammad Shafi Educational Complex Shershah, Jamshed Ahmed Khan School at Hijrat Colony.

The coordinator told that students of many universities had shown their interest to participate in the activities of the youth team to make the city clean and peaceful. The commissioner Karachi appreciated the activities being undertaken by the youth team.
