116 profiteers fined

KARACHI: The deputy commissioners of all five districts of Karachi launched crackdown on profiteers, and fined 24 milk sellers, 10 fruit sellers, 54 vegetable sellers, 09 retailers, 12 poultry sellers and seven flour sellers for selling products above official rates.

According to a report issued on Wednesday, Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said that 116 shopkeepers were challaned and Rs93,600 fine was recovered from them in the latest crackdown.

The commissioner said that the crackdown against the shopkeepers would be continued till sale of commodities at official rates.
