17 more dengue fever cases reported in city

Karachi: Sindh Dengue Surveillance Cell confirmed 17 more cases of dengue viral fever in the city on Monday.

The focal person for the cell, Dr Muhammad Shakeel Aamir Mullick, said 478 dengue cases had been reported in the province since January 2013, out of which 466 were detected in Karachi, while 12 in rest of the province.

He said four of the dengue patients in the city had died and 16 were still admitted in different hospitals. Seventeen new cases were reported on Monday. The patients were admitted to different hospitals, but six of them were discharged after treatment, he added.
