Karachi: Nineteen more dengue viral fever cases were detected in Karachi on Wednesday, increasing the patients toll to 1388 this year, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.
Mullick said that a total of 1577 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province Since January 2013, out of them 1388 were detected in Karachi and 189 in rest of province. He said eleven dengue patients expired in Karachi this year so far.
He said that 68 dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of the Sindh, while five patients were discharged from hospitals after treatment from Karachi. He said 19 new cases were reported in Karachi on 25th September, while seven cases were detected in Hyderabad.
He said a total of 26 cases reported on Wednesday, out of which 18 were inpatient and eight were Out Patient Departments OPD cases.
He informed that 167 cases were detected in Hyderabad, four in Thatta, three in Sukkur, three in Shikarpur, two in Kambar, two in Sanghar, Two in Dadu, two in Kashmore, one in Larkana, one in Khairpur, one in Naushehro Feroz and one in Umerkot since January 2013.
