1st Batch of Sufi University passes out

Jamshoro: The International University of Peace, Sufism & Modern Sciences (IUPS&MS) Sindh University (SU) campus Bhit Shah has successfully completed its 1st year of its establishment, as over 150 students, both male & female, have received their certificates of diploma courses in a ceremony presided over by the vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazir A. Mughal.

Among others Member of Sindh Assembly Dr. Makhdoom Rafique Zaman, Waqar Hussain Shah, Deputy Commissioner Matiyari Fayaz Ahmed Abbasi, pro vice chancellor Larkana campus Prof. Dr. Hakim Ali Kanasiro, Dean social sciences SU Prof. Dr. Abida Taherani, Dean faculty of arts Dr. Javed Iqbal, Prof. Qamar Mirza and were present in the ceremony in the Excellence Hall Bhit Shah.

It is worth mentioning that IUPS&MS is ever first university in South Asia which has been established at Bhit Shah with the objectives to promote peace and disseminate the messages of Sufis throughout the world in an attempt to get rid of global terrorism, extremism and fundamentalism and create peace, harmony and brotherhood not only in Pakistan but also in the region.

In his welcome speech, PVC of Sufi University Dr. Aslam Parvez Memon termed the ceremony as mini convocation; saying over 150 students received certificates for completing their diplomas in Computer, Functional English & Religious Harmony which is a matter of great happiness for him and for the community of Bhit Shah.

MPA Makhdoom Rafique Zaman advised to organize international seminars at the campus from time to time. He announced his full support in matter of expenses for these seminars.

Prof. Dr. Nazir A. Mughal said SU is oldest varsity of Pakistan as it was established after partition in 1947 whereas he said Punjab University existed in India already so it cannot be called to be the first university of the country.
