2 troops hurt in Bara, Jamrud blasts

LANDIKOTAL: Two personnel of security agencies and three children received splinters wounds in two separate incidents of explosions here on Tuesday at Shahkas Jamrud and Sepah area of tehsils Bara and Jamrud, subdivisions of Khyber Agency, official and local sources said.

The first incident took place in the Shahkas area of Jamrud where an explosive device placed near the resident of a tribesman, Gohar, went off with big bang that injured his three kids, sources said. The administration officials rushed to the spot and collected evidences for investigations, sources said.

In the second occurrence, the forces convoy was targeted with remote control bomb, planted by unknown militants on the road side in Sepah area of Bara.

Two Frontier Corps FC troops identified as Numan Ahmad and Shaman Gul got injured and were shifted to military hospital for medical treatment, sources said. The forces’ tank was also destroyed in the explosion, sources said. Massive search operation has been launched in the area, sources said.

Meanwhile one militant was killed another wounded in cross firing between two militants here in Maidan, far-flung area of Tirah valley.
