Karachi: Twenty-eight more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi from 5th to 7th October, increasing the patients’ toll to 2133 this year, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh on Monday.
Mullick said that a total of 2419 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 213, out of which 2133 were detected in Karachi and 286 in rest of Sindh province. He said 12 dengue patients expired in Karachi this year so far.
He said that 48 dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of Sindh, while 54 patients were discharged from hospitals after treatment across the province. He said 16 new cases were reported in Karachi on 7th October, while five cases were detected in Hyderabad.
Mullick said a total of 41 cases were reported in the province from 5th to 7th Oct, out of which 36 were inpatient and five outpatient departments cases.
He informed that 262 cases were detected in Hyderabad, six in Thatta, three each in Sukkur and Shikarpur; two each in Kambar, Sanghar; Dadu and Kashmore and one each in Larkana, Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze and Umerkot since January 213.
