3 escaped after breaking police lock ups

Sialkot: Three dangerous accused Muzammal Shehzad, Atif and Qaiser on Tuesday managed to escape from police custody after breaking lock ups of Begowala police station in Sambrial tehsil. According to the details, the Begowala police had arrested accused Muzammal Shehzad, Atif (residents of Ghakhar Mandi) and Qaiser (resident of Roypur-Uggoki) on September 14,2013 in a dacoity case (No. 220/2013) registered against them under section 382 PPC.

Early on Tuesday at about 04:30 a.m., when there was load shedding of electricity, the accused cut the bars of lock ups of Begowala police station and fled away from police custody by taking advantage of the power load shedding. Begowala police have registered a case against these fugitive accused.

Meanwhile, on the order of Sialkot DPO Muhammad Gohar Nafees , the Begowala police have registered a case (No. 248/2013) against its accused Muharrar Khalid Naseem, Naib Muharrar Muhammad Saleem and constable Ghulam Sarwar under sections 155-C, 223 and 224 PPC for their negligence , in this regard. Police have arrested these three accused policemen and sent them behind the bars.

DPO has also formulated special police teams , which were raiding at various places to ensure the early re-arrest of the fugitive accused, in this regard.

Three days ago, the Begowala police station had been shifted to a rented building in village Jhumat-Begowala , as this police station’s own building was declared dangerous and building department had directed the police officials to vacate the ancient building to avert any untoward incident , which was feared to collapse at any time.
