Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 32% Pakistanis believe that Saudi Foreign Minister visited Pakistan to discuss ex-President Musharraf’s safe exit from the country.
A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Some people think that the purpose of Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al Faisal’s visit was to discuss a safe exit for ex-President Musharraf while some think he came for other reasons.
What do you think?” Responding to this, 32% believed Saud Al Faisal visited Pakistan to negotiate Musharraf’s safe exit whereas 54% thought he came to Pakistan for other reasons. 14% did not respond.
The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1313 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Jan 13, 2014 – Jan 20, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
