48 inch diameter line passing through Gujjar Nala wasted

KARACHI: Karachi Water & Sewerage Board KWSB spokesperson has stated that due to leakages in 48 inch diameter line passing through Gujjar Nala Federal B. Area water was wasted in large quantities due to illegal encroachments around the pipeline.

He said that KWSB was facing difficulties in the repair work due to these encroachments and illegal construction leakages had started. The line is endangered by these encroachments and in view of these leakages and damages KWSB had decide to repair the line to prevent further damage and leakages. Supply would be disconnected for 36 hours during the repair work.

Pipe leakages were found during Ramdanul Mubarak however due to Ramadan, peek summer and Eidul Fitr repair work on the 48 inch diameter bulk supply line was pending to prevent disconnection of supply. However, the line needs immediate attention now therefore repair work would commence on 31st August to be completed in 36 hours.

During the repair work supply to Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 125, 13C and 13D would be partially disconnected whereas supply to Federal B. Area, North Karachi, Nazimabad, Shadman Town and K.B.R would be disconnected. KWSB spokesperson requested the citizens to use water with caution and store ample amount of water so that they may not face any troubles during the repair work.
