Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan 56% Pakistanis believed that Electoral System should change but elections should be held on time.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Some people think that electoral system in Pakistan is really bad, no good political leaders come from it therefore there should be no elections till the system changes whereas others believe that election should be on time and system should be changed gradually and over time. What is your opinion about this?” Responding to this, 32% believe that electoral system should be changed first and then elections should take place while 56% believe that elections should be on time along with change in electoral system. However, 12% did not give a view.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2642 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during January 06 to 11, 2013.
