60% of Pakistanis think private schools should be given permission to run, Survey

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 60% of Pakistanis think private schools should be given permission to run.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Nowadays, many private schools are running in the country.

Do you think private schools should be given permission to run or should all schools be run by the government?” Responding to this, 60% of respondents said private schools should be given permission to run and 38% said all schools should be run by the government. However, 2% did not give a response.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2730 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during February 04, 2013 – February 11, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
