64% Pakistanis think that Defense Day should be a public holiday, Poll

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, majority (64%) Pakistanis think that Defense Day should be a public holiday.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Some people think that there should be a public holiday on Defense Day whereas some people think there should be no holiday.

What is your opinion on this?” Responding to this, 64% said that there should be a public holiday, 35% said there should not be and 1% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2655 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Sep 09, 2013 – Sep 16, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
