77% Pakistanis celebrate Eid in the city where they live,Poll

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 77% Pakistanis celebrate Eid in the city where they live.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Where did you celebrate Eid this time?” Responding to this, 77% said that they celebrated Eid in their city of residence, 6% in another city and 15% celebrated it in their ancestral village, 2% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2603 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during August 12, 2013 – August 19, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
