8 miners killed, 2 injured

DUKI: Eight mine workers were killed and two seriously injured when mine was filled with poisonous gas here Monday.

According to details 10 mine workers were busy in mining in a depth of 1200 feet in Nasir coal mines here today. An explosion took place when poisonous gas was filled in the mine. All the miners were buried under the debris. Mine rescue workers recovered eight bodies of Jamadar Bakht Munir, Hazrat Ali, Samiullah, Khan Zain, Shakir, Bakht Zaman, Hukmran and Sohrab Khan after several hours of hectic efforts. These dead bodies were charred.

Two miners Ejaz Ali and Syed Muhammad fainted due to poisonous gas. They were shifted to hospital.
