8 more dengue fever cases detected in Karachi

KARACHI: Eight more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Thursday, said Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.

Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick said a total of 336 dengue fever cases have yet been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of which 326 occurred in Karachi and 10 in rest of Sindh.

He said two dengue patients expired in Karachi this year. He further said 15 dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of the city and eight new cases were also reported in Karachi on 27 June. They were admitted to different hospitals, he added.

However, five dengue patients were also discharged from hospitals after treatment.
