AJK: Majeed announces Rs. 10mn for welfare of army personal’s families

Muzaffarabad: The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudry Abdul Majeed has announced Rs. 10 million for the welfare of army personals families who laid their lives to guard the ideological and geographical frontiers of the country.

He made this announcement while addressing a ceremony held in honor of the martyrs of Gyari sector and others, as a chief guest here in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday. Paying tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan army the AJK premier said that it never let Kashmiris undergo the sense of seclusion in their struggle against Indian oppression adding the people of state always stood by the brave soldiers of Pakistani troops.

The Prime Minister demanded super powers of the world to play their role to give Kashmiris their internationally recognized right to selfdetermination without which he added no durable peace in the region could be ensured.

While condemning the judicial assassination of Muhammad Afzal Guru the AJ&K premier observed that India hanged Guru to please its people but Kashmir’s freedom movement gained a very significant momentum after that act. “ India didn’t only hanged Guru but hanged its constitution, law, socalled secularism, humanity and the peace of the region: such an act may result in any nuclear disaster in the region and I request the peace loving nations to ensure the security of the region”, he observed.

The GOC Murree Major General NajamulHasan also addressed the ceremony and thanked the prime minister for showing solidarity with the families of martyrs as well as for the financial assistance. He maintained that nation’s freedom was due to soldiers’ sacrifices. The Prime Minister and GOC Murree later wreathed the monument of shuhda and paid rich homage to their sacrifices. The Prime Minister also met with the family members of martyrs.
