Al Khidmat extends healthcare service to 4.1mn people in 6 months

Karachi: Alkhidmat Karachi chapter extended healthcare service to more than 4113000 people during last six months.

This was told to half yearly review meeting of Alkhidmat Welfare Society Karachi in a detailed briefing.

The hospitals and dispensaries of Alkhidmat Karachi chapter gave medical services to 4.1mn people. Alkhidmat Shah Faisal Colony Hospital attended 32778 patients, Malir-Khokhrapar Hospital attended 37685 patents, Korangi Hospital 54496 patients, AlHuda Medical Centre 47957 patients, Nazimabad Hospital 24525 patients, and Sakhi Hassan Medical Centre 15643 patients. Alkhidmat Pharmacy provided medicines to 2680929 people at 15% discount, while Alkhidmat Diagnostic Centre catered services to 50974 people. As many as 1186385 patients were served at the clinics of Alkhidmat primary health service, while 14518 people visited Alkhidmat Homeopathy Clinic.

During these six months, while Alkhidmat Karachi burial bus service was used by 3240 bereaved families. Fifty-one students completed Hifz-e-Quran from seminaries run by Alkhidmat, while clusters of Orphan Care Program established in Lyari and Dalmia Colony with registration of455 orphaned children.

Alkhidmat Karachi president Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, who is also amir of Jamat-e-Islami Karachi, appreciated these services; however, he instructed to further extend their scope.

The meeting also discussed plans to improve medical care services and expand and upgrade their hospitals.
