QUETTA: Ali Akbar Velayati Iranian Presidential candidate has asked Pakistan government and people to complete Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project despite American Pressure as it is in the best interest of Pakistan and would prove milestone for the progress of this country. America does not want relations among Muslim countries develop. Iranian interference in Pakistan is propaganda of enemies against the two countries.

He was addressing a Press conference here Saturday. Iranian Consul General based at Quetta Muhammad Hussain Yahyavi was also present at the press conference.

Ali Akbar Velayati said Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project was underway for last several years. Iran has already completed gas pipeline work at its soil. He said it is hoped Pakistan would also take necessary measures in this regard. He said Iran was ready to give loan to Pakistan for this project.

He aid as far as American pressure over the project is concerned Iran is of the opinion America has no concern with the project. Pakistan Government and people should immediately start work on this project.

He said America does not want Muslim countries have good and improved relations. Pakistan and Iran he added would foil this conspiracy of America.

Answering a question he said Iran never fired in any area of Pakistan nor made any interference. Any plan to improve Pakistan’s economy within its territory such as Gwadar Port we would support it.

He said enemy was propagating to sore relations between Iran and Pakistan But we make it clear such conspiracies would not be successful at any cost.

He said his visit to Pakistan has been very successful during which he called on President Asif Zardari, Governor Punjab, Chief Minister Punjab, Chief Minister Sindh, Amir Jamaat Islami Pakistan Syed Munawwar Hassan and other government and political personalities and held positive talks with them.

He said it has been agreed that Pakistan and Iran would mobilise all their efforts to improve their relations.

He said he also attended a conference of Shia and Sunni Ulema and condoled with relatives of Alamdar road incident.
