All set for MVT recovery drive

Karachi: The provincial government of Sindh has completed preparations of a big drive to recover motor vehicle tax dues from the defaulters. In this regard the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department (E&T) has completed preparations to begin a comprehensive road checking campaign from April 29 to May 3 throughout the province.

Director General E&T Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said that the Director E&T (Admin) motor vehicle registration (Karachi) and directors of Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana and Sukkur have been directed to carry out road checking campaign with effect from April 29 to May 3 to check and identify the vehicles plying on the road without paying the tax.

Each team would be launching the campaign under the supervision of deputy directors and senior E&T officers and the schedule with physical spots will also be sent to the concerned deputy inspectors general of traffic police.

It is learnt that heavy dues are outstanding against the motor vehicle tax defaulters and their recovery would improve the health of provincial kitty.
