All Town/Taluka Municipal Administrations abolished in Sindh: spokesman local government department

Karachi: The spokesman of Local Government Department has clarified that the Local Government system 1979 has completely been restored in the entire province and all the Town/Taluka Municipal Administrations (TMAs) have been abolished.

An official handout said on Monday that District Municipal Corporations, Municipal Corporations, Municipal Committees, District Councils, Town Committees and Union Councils have been restored vide order No. SO (A)/LG/4(37)/2011 dated 27-02-2013.

Since the TMAs have been abolished therefore, the question of retaining the officers in TMAs does not arise. All the concerned officers of TMAs have been relieved to report to Sindh Local Government Board for further posting.
