Alleged dacoit among six killed in Karachi

Karachi: Six people including an alleged dacoit were killed in Karachi on Monday.
According to police, unidentified men opened fire in Baldia No 2, killing a 25-year-old man, Farooq. The victim was an activist of a religious party. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy.

Rescue sources said that a 30-year-old unidentified man was gunned down near Juna Mosque in Agra Taj Colony area of Lyari. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for a postmortem. In another incident, the body of a 30-year-old unidentified man was found near Dua Hotel in Mauripur area. It was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsy.

Unidentified men shot dead one Ghulab, 35, in Defense Housing Society Phase II. The body was shifted to JPMC. The mutilated body of a man was found from Katti Pahari in Orangi Town. The age and identity of the body was not yet ascertained due to marks of severe torture on the body. The victim was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

A 30-year-old man was killed in a police encounter near Al-Asif Square in Sohrab Goth area. He was a dacoit, police said. The body was shifted to ASH for autopsy.

Separately, a 30-year-old man, Hussain Shah, son of Shah Nawaz, was injured when police opened fire on him in Steel Town.

Rahim Baksh, a police official at Steel Town police station, told PPI that the injured was a dacoit and caught red handed while looting a man near Gulshan-e-Hadeed Chowrangi. “Police tried to stop the dacoit but he and his accomplice opened fire at us, forcing the police to shoot at them. One of them was injured while the other succeeded in escaping.”
The injured was shifted to JPMC for treatment.
