Angry mob attack police picket, 6 vehicles torched

Karachi: Six vehicles, including a police mobile van, were burnt by an angry mob in Ayub Goth area of Sohrab Goth on Monday.

According to detail, angry residents of Ayoub Goth area took to streets against killing of a man, named Hussain, who had been kidnapped by unidentified men from Ayub Goth and later his body was found from Quetta Town area.

The enraged people attacked the Industrial Area police picket and torched four motorcycles, police mobile van and a car parked there. The protesters also pelted vehicles with tones and blacked the roads. Some armed men also opened firing on police party which retaliated.

However, the law and enforcement agencies rushed to spot and took the situation under control. The protesters managed to flee.

Sources said about a dozen accused were arrested by police and further probe began.
