Another dengue patient dies in Karachi

KARACHI: Another dengue viral fever patient died in a private hospital during treatment and two other new cases reported in Karachi, said Dengue Surveillance Cell here Thursday.

Provincial Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick said 34yearsold man, Farhan resident of Gulistan e Jauhar, admitted in private hospital a day ago died during treatment. He said two dengue fever patients expired in Karachi in last two months.

He said that total of 256 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh since January 2013, out of them 248 in Karachi, while eight cases in rest of Sindh province this year.

He further said 14 dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of the city and two new cases were also reported in Karachi on 13 June, they were admitted to different hospitals. Three patients were also discharged from hospitals.
