ANP demands army operation in Karachi

KARACHI: President Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh, Senator Shahi Syed, on Sunday demanded of the government to conduct military operation in Karachi in order to maintain sustainable peace and free the city of arms.

Addressing the death anniversaries of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan (Bacha Khan) and Khan Abdul Wali Khan at Mardan House Karachi, he said that though they were supporting the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi but did not have more expectations from its result.

“The criminal negligence being shown by federal and provincial governments & law enforcing agencies is out of understanding,” he asserted and raised the question what door should they knock for protection of ANP leaders and workers in the city.

He said that they needed peace whether it maintained in any way. “The country is on a critical juncture of its history that is why we are praying for success of dialogue between the government and the Taliban,” he said.

He said that the dialogue would expose many faces and those who were under fantasy would soon realize the fact.

Syed paid rich tribute to political philosophy and national services of Bacha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan as saying if their political vision is followed, the country will not face present challenges of terrorism.

Earlier, recitation from the Holy Quran was also held for the eternal peace to the both the late leaders.
