APC stresses for initiating dialogue with Taliban

Islamabad: A joint communiqué issued at the end of All Parties Conference APC convened by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam F to prepare a roadmap for restoration of peace in the country stresses on dialogue with Taliban in cooperation with all political parties to bring peace and stability in Tribal Areas and rest of the country.

It supports Grand Jirga for bringing peace in FATA and KPK‚ saying people from all schools of thought should be given representation in it.

The All Parties Conference organized by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam F to prepare a roadmap for restoration of peace in the country here on Thursday. Representatives of 30 political parties were participated in the conference.

The communiqué urged to take immediate political steps to end terrorism in the country. The declaration calls for a Martyrs Trust to support families of the victims of terrorism. It also calls upon the incumbent government‚ caretaker government and next government along with the opposition to abide by these points.

PMLN Chief Nawaz Sharif said that the federal government should respond positively to the peace offer by the Taliban, adding tribal elders want solution for their problems.

He fully supported dialogue with the Taliban and urged the government to respond this offer positively. He termed the initiative of JUI F as positive.

PPP leader Amin Faheem has said the government will support each effort to bring peace in the country. He said that PPP itself has been victim of terrorism and it supports efforts to curb this menace.

He said the political leaders in the conference should take decisions for peace remaining within the ambit of constitution and law. He however said all decisions in this regard should be taken keeping in the mind the writ of the state.

PMLQ Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain stressed the need for opting all options to bring peace. He said no one should have doubt on the loyalties of tribal peoples.

Amir Jamat-e-Islami Munawar Hassan alleged India for interfering in Balochistan and disturbing peace there. He said his party fully supports efforts for peace.

Qaumi Watan Party Chief Aftab Khan Sherpao said without any condition‚ we should invite Taliban on dialogue table.
ANP leader Afrasiab Khattak encouraged APC to take a step forward other than declarations for the sake of peace in the country.

Earlier in his opening remarks the Chief of Waziristan‚ Malik Qadir Khan showed his concerns and said tribals are wrongly connected with terrorism. He demanded from government to find the way out‚ so they can get relief from the menace of terrorism.
