Army to be deployed in and outside of most sensitive polling stations in by-polls

Islamabad: A meeting of election commission chaired by Acting Election Commissioner Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani was held in Islamabad on Monday and reviewed arrangements for the by-elections to be held on Thursday.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar‚ Defense Secretary Asif Yasin and other officials also attended.

Addressing the meeting‚ the acting chief election commissioner said that help of Pakistan Army has been sought for security at sensitive and most sensitive polling stations.

Defense Secretary Asif Yasin said troops will be deployed in and outside of most sensitive polling stations.

He assured the election commission that every possible assistance will be provided for the peaceful conduct of by-polls.
