At least 30 killed, 90 injured in deadly bomb attack in Karachi

Karachi: At least 30 people were killed and 90 others were injured, 50 of them seriously when a deadly bomb planted near an Imambargah exploded at Abbass Town, Abul Hassan Isphahani Road in Gulshan-e-Iqbal town here Sunday, said Commissioner Karachi Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi.

The bomb blast damaged at least two residential buildings and many shops. The rescue workers shifted the bodies and injured to local hospitals, where emergency were announced. Hospital sources said the death toll might raise as the condition of many injured is critical.

Police said after the first blast that resulted in huge damage another blast of low intensity was heard that was possibly burst of gas cylinder of some vehicle.

Meanwhile, Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen announced strike on Monday, while Muttahida Qaumi Movement MQM also announced to observe a mourning day.
