AWP holds demonstration to show solidarity with Balochistan earthquake victims

Islamabad: The Awami Workers Party AWP will hold a demonstration today Monday in front of the National Press Club Islamabad to show solidarity with the Balochistan earthquake victims and to highlight the inadequacy, sluggishness, and lack of transparency in the relief operations that are currently underway in Balochistan’s affected areas, particularly Awaran and its surrounding districts.

The AWP will urge the elected governments, on both provincial and federal levels, to immediately take relief operations into civilian control and step up relief efforts, which includes allowing access to humanitarian organizations, local organizations, media personnel, and all segments of society who wish to contribute in the relief efforts but are not being allowed to visit the earthquake affected areas.
