QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly here Thursday passed unanimously provincial budget for 201314. It was first budget of this assembly after May 11 elections.
No cut motion was moved by any member of the assembly. Speaker Jan Mohammad Jamali chaired the session.
Chief Minister/ Finance Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch had announced Rupees 198.395 billion deficit budget on June 20.
He moved 51 demands for grant before the House. These included 42 demands pertaining to current expenditures while nine development expenditures.
Speaker Jan Jamali while ruling provincial budget has been passed congratulated the House for passage of supplementary budget 201213 and annual budget for 201314.
Major allocations included General Administration including organs of State, fiscal admin, Economics Regulation, Statistics, publicity and Information Rupees 12.48 billion, Rupees 8.5 billion for Pension, Rupees7.14 billion for Balochistan Police, Rupees 4.24 billion for ,Rupees 6.82 billion for Civil works, Rupees 24.74 billion for education.
Similarly health sector allocation for coming year will be Rupees 11.19 billion, Rupees 3.4 billion for natural calamities and others relief, Rupees 5.58 billion for agriculture, Rupees 6.85 billion for rural development, Rupees 5.48 billion would go to Energy sector and Rupees 12 billion have been set aside for Investment.
Later Speaker Jan Jamali adjourned the session till 1030 am Friday.
