Baizi Irrigation scheme completed with 3400 million

Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti formally launched Baizi Irrigation project with financial implication Rs.3400 million in district Mardan on Wednesday.

ANP Central Leader and Senator Muhammad Azam Khan Hoti, MNA Himayat Ullah Mayar, ANP Provincial and District office bearers, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Syed Masoom Shah Bacha, Secretary Irrigation Khalid Pervez, Project Director, Provincial and district officers were also present.

The Chief Minister launched the water flow in the main canal by turning the lever. Secretary Irrigation Khalid Pervez and Project director informed the Chief Minister on objectives and capacity of the project.
The Chief Minister was apprised of the project cost amounting to Rs.3400661 million and it would irrigate 25000acre land having 20,000acre land of Mardan and 5000acre land of Malakand Districts.

The total length of the main canal was 39.092 Kilometre while the number of distributaries and miners was 21 and three tunnels having length 1626 meter. The water flow is 200 cusec.

The completion of network of the project will increase agriculture production upto hundred times. The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction on completion of the project and landed efforts of engineers and staff along with project director. He directed to awarding them honorary certificates.
