Bar: Delegation of Battagram district bar calls on CJP

ISLAMABAD: A 25member delegation of Battagram District Bar Association headed by its President Rasool Khan and consisting other office bearers and members called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry here on Thursday.

Talking to the delegation, the CJP said that Battagram Bar played vital role for rule of law, supremacy of constitution and independence of judiciary during the days of movement for restoration of superior judiciary which was equally supported by all segments of society.

He said the movement achieved its goal in the form of restoration of independent judiciary which is dispensing justice in free and fair manner. He said the movement gave message to the world that legal fraternity of Pakistan is a civilized section of society and believes in rule of law.

The delegation informed the CJP that petition writers are instrumental in increase of many problems like frivolous litigation and corruption, thus there must be checks upon them. The CJP assured them to take up the matter at the forum of National Judicial Policy Making Committee NJPMC.

The delegation assured its full support and cooperation in process of dispensation of expeditious and inexpensive justice and extolled the role of CJP for the steps taken to provide justice to litigants at doorsteps. The delegation praised CJP’s struggle for rule of law, supremacy of Constitution and independence of judiciary.

They also praised the National Judicial Policy which proved fruitful for lawyers as well as litigants and enhanced the public confidence in courts by providing speedy justice to them.

They informed the CJP that due to National Judicial Policy, the disposal rate in the courts was satisfactory. The delegation invited the CJP to visit Battagram District Bar, which he accepted and assured to visit them in suitable time.
