Bar: PBC elects Syed Qalb-i-Hasan as its VC

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), an apex body of legal practitioners, on Tuesday elected Syed Qalb-i-Hasan as its vice-chairman. The Attorney-General for Pakistan Irfan Qadir, who is ex-officio chairman of the PBC, acted as Returning Officer for the election of PBC’s VC and declared Syed Qalb-i-Hasan elected as VC of the PBC for the year 2013.

It may be recalled here that Syed Qalb-i-Hasan, from Rawalpindi, is the former Judge of the Islamabad High Court and also remained chairman of the Punjab Bar Council.

There were two candidates for the election of PBC’s VC for the year-2013, namely Syed Ayaz Zahoor from Quetta and Syed Qalb-i-Hasan from Rawalpindi. After polling of votes, through secret ballot, Syed Qalb-i-Hasan secured thirteen (13) votes as against Syed Ayaz Zahoor who obtained eight (8) votes.
