Bench and bar should struggle hard for common cause of justice’ dispensation: CJ

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Wednesday said that bench and bar were the integral part of same system, thus both should struggle hard for a common cause of dispensation of justice.

He said this while addressing a 10-member delegation of District Bar Association Chakwal headed by its President Malik Abdul Jalil, which called on him here at the Supreme Court. He said bench and bar should demonstrate the commitment and dedication for providing inexpensive and expeditious justice to the litigant parties.

He lauded the role and commitment of legal fraternity for rule of law and supremacy of constitution and appreciated the struggles and co-operation of members of bar to stand firmly on the principle of Independence of Judiciary.

The delegation also appreciated the role and commitment of the superior judiciary especially the Chief Justice of Pakistan for taking revolutionary steps under the constitution for the betterment of judiciary. They praised the efforts and struggles of the Chief Justice for enhancing the public confidence in judiciary. The delegation also assured their full support and co-operation to bring about improvements in the dispensation of justice.
