Bilawal’s advisor denounces killing of child

KARACHI: Surrender Valasai, Advisor to Patron-in-Chief Pakistan People’s Party on Minority Affairs has strongly condemned the killing of an innocent child of a bonded labour Bheel family in Umerkot district at the hands of a landlord and demanded immediate action against the culprits.

It may be mentioned that Umerkot police had raided the agriculture farm of landlord Habibullah Jatt on court orders to free the bonded labours from his private jail. According to reports, the said landlord and his armed men resorted to firing on the peasants, killing a boy Narain Bheel and injuring other small girl children.

In a statement issued from Media Cell Bilawal House, Surrender said it was outrageous that such an attack was mounted in the presence of Umerkot police and there were protests across the district against non-arrest of the culprits.

“I have contacted the Inspector General of Police and sent him the available details of the incidents with a demand for action against the killers and those hands in glove with them,” he said.

He pointed out that PPP Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had made it clear that PPP won’t tolerate any injustice to minorities, adding Party’s Human Rights Cell led by MNA Dr Nafisa Shah will play an active role in taking notices of such incidents and help the victims get justice.
